NOTICE ON UPDATE OF IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS AND BIOMETRIC DATA

Based on Circular 17/2024/TT-NHNN dated June 28, 2024 (hereinafter referred to as “Circular”) on opening and using payment accounts at payment service providers, VRB respectfully informs customers of the important notes as prescribed in the Circular as follows:
From 01/10/2024, the following services and products will be impacted:

Regarding Account:
+ Customers who are Vietnamese citizens are not allowed to use their passport to open an account.
+ When opening an account electronically, the customer must provide the account holder's biometric information.
From 01/01/2025: the following services and products will be impacted:

Regarding Online Transaction:
+ Payment transactions and cash withdrawals on the payment account will be suspended if the customer's identification documents are invalid or expired.
+ Withdrawals and transactions by electronic means on payment accounts (including electronic banking services, Cards, ATMs, POS, e-wallets) can only be carried out after the verification of the identity documents and biometric information of the account holder has been completed.

Regarding Card:
+ Card transactions cannot be made when identity documents or residence certificates have expired.

To ensure that your online transactions are always carried out promptly, smoothly and securely, VRB recommends that customers update identification information and biometric data before January 1, 2025 by the following simple ways:
- Method 1: Provide information via the "Biometric Collection" feature on the iPlus e-banking application
- Method 2: Go to the nearest VRB Branch/Transaction Office.
(For individual customers who are Vietnamese citizens and have used their ID card or passport to open an account before October 1, 2024, please update the new ID card information - Citizen ID card or ID card for VRB before January 1, 2025).
